GKR Karate Federation IGKF

The International Go-Kan-Ryu Karate Federation (IGKF) was formed in 2001. GKR Karate had long recognised that with its growth into an international club with branches in three countries, there needed to be an overall body which would oversee certain aspects of the organisation and represent GKR on the international stage.

• Represent the interests of GKR Karate members in the international arena, and deal with other worldwide martial arts federations in matters of common interest.
• The maintaining of standards and uniformity in GKR Karate and its teaching throughout the world including Instructor Accreditation Programs.
• To assist in the process of dealing with various government and other statutory bodies in the countries in which GKR Karate operates.
• To monitor developments and new issues which arise in any of the countries in which GKR Karate operates and to assess their benefits/impacts in that country and for GKR Karate generally.
