Congratulations on achieving your brown belt and welcome to the section of our website dedicated solely to your ongoing development and education.
With any journey, it’s important to occasionally stop and take stock of how just far you have come. Think back to your very first class; a nervous student entering the dojo for the first time, trying to grasp even the simplest of techniques. Think of your first grading and how nervous you would have been. You may been one of the many beginners who would never have thought of getting so far in karate. And now here you are, proudly wearing a Brown belt, and forging your way towards your ultimate grading goal of Black belt!
Now you are a Brown belt you may begin your journey into a number of advanced techniques (including foot sweeps, hook kicks, spinning kicks etc) and from this point on, you gain one new kata per grade, in some cases two kata per grade. This is because your grade suggests you have developed a sound understanding of your body and can therefore adapt far more quickly to new techniques and principles.
Of course you still have much to learn and work on to achieve your black belt, but this makes for an exciting journey ahead.
We trust you will find plenty of both inspiration and education in this section to keep you on track with your journey and moving towards your next grading.
