Suspend Your Contract

Please Note: Our head office will be closed during the holiday period of 21^st December – 5^th January. All enquiries will be tended to upon our return.

As per the terms of the GKR Karate Direct Debit contract, you are able to suspend payments for up to 6 weeks per contract year with a $5 per week suspension fee applicable. To take advantage of this facility please complete the form below and your request will be actioned.

Please note:

Suspensions can only be applied in full week blocks, please select the applicable number of weeks.
Your request will be actioned within 4 days, if your start date is within the next 4 days when the suspension is applied we will ensure you still receive the full timeframe requested.
If your suspension dates don’t align with your current payment dates, a pro rata amount may be taken from the payments either side of your suspension. This will ensure that you receive the full financial benefit for your suspension period.
If you need the suspension for longer then 6 weeks per contract year, please add a note stating the number of weeks and reason in the comments section.

How long will my request take to action?

We aim to respond to all requests within 4 business days.

Should your suspension start date begin before your request is able to be actioned, we will ensure that there is time added on to the end of your suspension to ensure you are not disadvantaged in any way.

You will receive an email confirmation when your request is processed.
My suspension is for medical reasons?

Should you require a suspension for medical reasons, the 6 week period can be extended and suspension fee waived where a relevant doctors certificate can be applied.

Do I have to take all 6 weeks suspension at once?

No, the suspension period can be applied in 1 week blocks.
What happens after I have used all my 6 weeks?

You will automatically be allocated another 6 weeks on the anniversary of your contract start date each year.

Self Defence

Synonymous with martial arts, self defence and inner self confidence are one of the key takeaways from regular training. From the age of 5 GKR teaches basic self defence and extraction moves, continuing right through to our senior grades.
Weight Loss

Karate is a great way to lose or maintain a healthy weight, with most classes consisting of aerobic, stretching and toning activities. For those who may not have exercised in some time, GKR provides a supportive environment where students can train at their own pace and physical ability. Our classes are a mixture of men, women and children of all ages.
Focus

Many parents are keen to see their children develop greater focus and discipline through their martial arts training, and GKR’s classes provide the perfect environment. Instructors teach in a respectful and supportive atmosphere through karate inspired games, activities and drills.

Family

GKR promotes a family environment, encouraging kids, parents and relatives to all train in the same class. Staying a few karate grades behind your children, will encourage them to continue a regular training program.
Respect

As a traditional Japanese martial arts, karate promotes respect to our instructors, our club, each other and most importantly ourselves. This is a key part of your learnings as a student of GKR karate.
Friendships

Although karate is considered a solo sport, it is still the foundation for many life long friendships. Classes include games and partner work where children and adults alike take the opportunity to learn about and bond with their fellow class mates.
